Most of the people who watch Fox News are simply being confirmed by Fox News in what they already believe or are inclined to believe.If Fox News shut down tomorrow these people would not all start reading The Nation ."Post hoc est non propter hoc' After this is not(necessarily ) on account of this.A rooster crows every morning before the sun comes up but he does not CAUSE the sun to come up.To even start to stop these people from having confirmed what thet already believe or want to believe ,you would have to shut down the entire right wing industry .Also for many of these blue collar middle class people THEIR economy IS worsening.Maybe my income taxes have not increased but in my county/state the following taxes/fees have increased in the last two years some drastically:gasoline taxes,toll roads,cigarette taxes,speeding tickets,vehicle registrations,parking tickets,fees for parks,fees for boat ramps,taxes on insurance ,real estate taxes .To the average joe out here its hard to sell him on global" warming" when last winter Florida had one of its coldest winters since they starting keeping records ,if not the coldest.I personally cannot find many intelligent ,well informed people,even "experts" who believe the economy will improve in 2011.Of course those who can make money by lying about the economy ,either optomistic or pessimistic ,are doing so.I doubt Joseph Stilitez sp? or Robert Reich are very optimistic about 2011 or beyond.
