28. I grew up in a town that was situated on Lake Michigan like Buffalo on Lake Erie.
The worst recollection I have is the winter of '71-'72. It started snowing on Christmas Day and didn't stop until the end of January.

We didn't have much school in January, and the heaviest dump truck/plow combination, the humungous "Oshkosh", couldn't make it through the worst part of our road. Eventually, the state and county had to get one of those gigantic snow-blowers to come down from the Upper Peninsula to cut through the worst areas.

I was also in Connecticut for the '78-79 blizzard and in New York for the February 1987 blizzard. Both were pretty serious snowfalls, but nothing matched '71-'72 in Michigan.
