Why I will always put party over principle
Obama: Failed to get EFCA passed Republicans: Trying to eliminate the ability to collectively bargain Obama: Cut LIHEAP in half because heating oil isn’t as expensive anymore Republicans: Passed a bill totally defunding Planned Parenthood just out of spite Obama: Established comprehensive teacher standards under Race To The Top Republicans: Attempting to strip all benefits from teachers Obama: Averted a new Great Depression and rescued workers and the economy from the brink of oblivion Boehner: Hasn’t proposed a single bill that will create jobs yet, said “So be it” if he kills jobs while achieving his agenda. Obama: Compromised with pro-life Democrats to explicitly subject the Affordable Care Act to the prohibitions of the Hyde Amendment Republicans: Attempted to redefine rape FFS While Obama and the Democratic congress haven’t been able to achieve everything desired and may have even been disappointing, they aren’t the unmitigated evil that is the Republican Party. Until there is any viable option to stopping the Republican Party other than the Democratic Party, I will always be an unapologetic defender of the Democratic Party, right or wrong.
