on the recession economy? I mean, besides Michael Moore -- his documentaries are great but they're viewed as political statements and thus reach many fewer people.

Where are the films that compare to those done in the 30's and 40's -- the comedies and dramas that skewer the bankers, the lawyers, and the wealthy? That contain roles for the Jimmy Stewarts and the Gary Coopers?

IMHO, we need an Academy award winning movie about a family involved in one of these crazy foreclosure situations. What else? Any plots you would pay some money to see?
