30. And victims aren't victims until they get a conviction? And how do they
get access to Victim Assistance if the police can't find the perpetrator to bring to trial? Or if the rapist gets away with it even if it goes to trial? Does the woman's insurance get to decline paying her hospital bill and therapy bills because the crime wasn't really committed because she couldn't get a conviction? Just watch the insurance companies hang her out to dry.

Yes, a false accusation is the rare and extreme exception for an extremely violent felony. But we don't build the rules around that rare case and deny victims the right to justice and getting the care they deserve. This kind of change will insure more rapists go unreported and unconvicted. reporting a rape is a difficult and painful enough experience as it is.

To me, anyone accused of any felony is still alleged. It's the way our courts work.
