12. My Terrible Experience...trying to have Dinner out at "OutBACK Steak House"
Edited on Sat Mar-10-12 08:03 PM by KoKo
SHEESH!

What an Experience. We called to reserve a "spot for two" at Outback for 6:00 p.m. Were told that 6:15 p.m. would be better. We were ready and set to go because we could stil make the 7:20 p.m. showing of "The Artist" because it was only a few minutes away.

We arrived at Outback Steak House 15 minutes early...(just a flub up of one person being ready before the other) and when we went to park we found that the Parking Lot was Full and folks were circling around lookd for spots. We drove around a bit and a spot opened up and we took it. Our spot was to the back of "OutBack" and when we walked around to the entrance there was a line that went around the whole front of the building. We fought our way through to get through the doors to get to the Hostess who had our 6:15 Reservation. But, it was tough. There was a group of 10 or so with Flowers and Presents that must have been a Birthday Celebration waiting at the door...and the door was blocked with many folks of all ages who were trying to get Reservation checked with Hostess.

After we got in the door we saw a long L-Shaped bench with very nicely, duded up Senior Citizens in the maybe 70 to 80 year old group (maybe 10 or more) sitting on the bench and another large group of same Seniors in the Side Room waiting to be seated while more and more folks are pushing to get through the door to check in with the Hostess.

A lively older man from the First Senior Group...said to one of them "They are telling us now it's 90 Minutes Wait!....The other Senior Citizen Group to the Right of us in the room adjoining had one of their Females say: "If they'd told us it would be this long a wait when we called...we could have gone somewhere else..."

We were told it would be up to 30 Minutes for us two. {but we could hear stories of others who had waited longer so we were skeptical) We waited and waited and MORE people came in. Young and Middle age with young kids and others with young teens to older high school all checking in with hostess... She kept giving longer and longer wait times for each group. We had been there 35 minutes at that point and figures it was OUT OF THERE for us. We told the hostess we had to make a movie so take us off the list.

We never got our Steak and Goodies at Outback....we ended up coming home and (on the way) ordering from a Rib Place we use for Take out. We missed our Movie and we were so starving thinking about Steak Smells and Fixings it was hard to switch over to the barbeque.

So...a night ruined but, did get to see some of the "needs" in our society...and I really hope to see that movie ...but..maybe we will "eat at home" and try to see it on a weekday.

So...."OUTBACK IS HOT"....but, so hot they can't accomodate a huge crowd on Saturday Night?

Maybe the Economy is really coming back? ALSO...Our Senior Citizens need places to go to that don't treat them like that when they make reservation in advance and are kept waiting for well over an hour (90 Minutes according to OB Hostess) that turned into longer by the time we left when they hadn't even been seated.

We could have made the movie and survived on the Popcorn and Coke...but, we just couldn't hack it at that point.
