Separation of Church and State "make me want to throw up".

So saith Rick Santorum on MTP this morning.

It's too bad that he fails to understand the history behind JFK's remarks in 1960. The American people understood the possibility of some religions working their rituals and religion into the politics of this country. JFK gave his speech to re-assure the people that he would not bring his religion into the running of this country.

So that made Rick want to "throw up". Now, that may still appeal to a small percentage of evangelicals and devout Catholics but it is not the mainstream of America. It is dangerous talk that threatens our First Amendment. "Freedom of religion" does not mean you have the freedom to impose it in any way on anyone else. That is why there is a separation of church and state.
