time. Others are fascinated. I have flown into Manila no less than a couple dozen times myself. Like other massive metropolitan conglomerates in the developing world - be it Cairo, Bangkok, Mumbai or numerous other places they are sure to be quite overwhelming for someone who has never ventured outside of the first world. They are going to appear utterly chaotic, noisy and indeed dirty. A certain frame of mind will be completely fascinated and want to see all they can. Another more provincial frame of mind will be repulsed. It would be a going a bit too far to call Ms. Lynn's comments racist. Narrow and provincial would be more accurate. Although I do have to admit, where I am at now in the Marianas - Filipino television is on all the time. Especially if one walks into any number of business establishments here. My idea of hell would be having to spend eternity on day time Filipino television variety shows.
