Some friends of mine in Mexico are bartenders in the local cantina near where I live on and off. The place gets some ugly American republican tourists. These pompous shitheads come in and throw money around and treat all the locals like they are ignorant sub-human slaves. The locals absolutely despise them. I do too. The cantina has a tab system, you pay when you leave. So my friends will make the first few drinks (usually Margaritas on special, they're deadly) for the republicans extra strong, and the pubs lose it quickly and proceed to get "hasta la madre", a slang expression for "totally drunk out of your mind".

If I have the good fortune to be there for dinner and a few drinks on an evening that repub tourists come in and get "hasta la madre", I ask my bartender friends for my tab when I leave.

They nod, wink, smile, and tear up my bill.

"Hasta mañana, amiga!"
