I re-read 1984 tonight

First, I cannot believe I actually read that book in 8th grade, seems way too harsh and sexy to be in jr. high required reading, but it was actually the 80's and that was a long time ago...before the right started rewriting our textbooks.

I strikes me that the similarities about perpetual war and groupthink are already so prevalent in our current society.

and i realize that the 99 percent ARE the proles.

so what will they do? gun us down in the streets? torture us into newthink?

i honestly cannot believe how prescient Orwell was in writing this.

and honestly, i am scared, and at the same time very proud to be guilty of thoughtcrime...

i am afraid i will have nightmares tonight
please keep the faith OWS, we need you more than ever now...we need OURSELVES to stay strong on the face of such corruption...
