Some years ago, there were some pretty vicious wildfires in California. A right-wing meme appeared that a number of undocumented workers were stealing water from a site set up to distribute food and water to the affected refugees. A rather long thread appeared in response to that.

A number of DUers took the bait and ran it for all it was worth-- validating their biases that the undocumented workers were more or less indicative of "them dirty illegals..."

Once the story was shown to be someone's mere fantasy, they curiously stopped posting on that particular thread (yet still appear on many threads about undocumented workers, bemoaning the cost to them of "them dirty illegals...")


Wish, wish, wish I could find that thread... :)
