The car had the green light, the crowd had thinned, and the driver wasn't moving at more than 5MPH. No laws were being violated. There was zero reason for him to get in front of the car and start beating on it.

Doesn't justify trying to kill the guy though. Grab a cell phone, call 911, and tail him through the crowd until the cops can arrest him. There was zero excuse for lethal force in that situation.
