Seriously. If somebody gets caught on a residential burglary, they would go to the precinct, and then the next van to Central. That could take as little as 35-40 minutes. If it's a quick arraignment schedule, they could be booked and arraigned and bonded in 4 hours or less. Of course, that's not likely to happen, since people doing residential burglaries usually have a string of priors and don't have the access to funds necessary to bond out that quickly, but it could happen in principle, and probably has happened. Ditto for a whole line of Class A misdemeanors and even felonies.

So, yes, it's quite likely that you spent more time in custody than even some fairly serious criminals.

Making you wait in the car for two hours was pure power play. It was totally unnecessary and done just to punish you.
