Jimmy Carter spent his whole first term refusing to kick ass. Then he got his ass kicked in '80(and he would have even if Teddy HADN'T run...as everyone should admit by now).

FDR DID kick ass in his first term, and won big time(unfortunately, FDR pissed away the 1936 landslide by embracing the pointless goal of a balanced budget in 1937, a choice that caused the 1937 recession).

Clinton would've beaten Dole in '96 no matter what...he never had to be anti-liberal and anti-poor to do it(and he damn sure didn't have to fight to pass NAFTA, since 70% of the people were against it).

It's hard to see how Obama would do anything in a second term other than keep sliding further and further towards the suites and away from the streets.

If he's not on our side now...why would he change that later?
