11. "Hallowe'en" = "Hallow's Evening" = night before All Saint's Day
Nobody seemed too excited about this when I was a kid: I really don't know when these folk started getting their knickers knotted over Hallowe'en

Maybe they could just recite the old prayer

From ghoulies and ghosties and fierce little beasties
and things that go bump in the night! Good Lord, deliver us!


and then sing a verse or two of Sine Nomine and move on
