If you have a relative in a nursing home, you have to visit them to make sure they are getting adequate care. We had to put my grandmother in one because she was starting to get injured because she wasn't getting her insulin right, and was doing other things that threatened her health (like stealing candy bars whenever you took her someplace - I was afraid I was going to end up in jail and quit taking her anywhere!).

Still, somebody visited her just about every day, and she was actually pretty happy there. She'd want to go back before too long so she could play cards.
