9. A strongly recommended read
"The Oppermanns," by Lion Feuchtwanger, a novel published in 1933. About what it felt like to be a normal, upper-middle class Jewish family experiencing the "frog in boiling water" aspect of living with ever-contracting civil and legal rights. He didn't know what the end point would be, but the trajectory is chillingly unmistakable. I learned about him and his escape from Germany on the Hitler channel.
