11. Many who are still alive who were alive in the 1950's
Many baby boomers are around who lived through it as children. Also the Cold War kept a intense stigma until at least 1992, so there are many generations to go. Many senior citizens today can easily get scared by the word "communist". Much of the current right has adopted McCarthyism tactics and taken them to a whole new level.
