40. Sometimes a puppet is just a puppet...
but it was my impression that Sesame Street was supposed to send a message to all kids out there. They really need to have a couple of gay characters (and I haven't watched the show since our kids were very small, so have no idea if that's happened). It would be be cool for some child to grow up and identify with at least one puppet on the show, knowing that he/she is perfectly normal and are surrounded by gay people in all walks of life. Actually, I'd prefer to see them in families as more kids would identify in that situation.
