                    - Max Baucus is a Democrat. Obama called out Republicans. And don't put words in my mouth.  emulatorloo   Jul-26-11 03:57 PM   #58
  - In that case the party is finished  Doctor_J   Jul-25-11 01:00 PM   #6

  - 1. Reid's plan does not touch entitlements 2. REALITY: Republican House will never pass Tax Increas  emulatorloo   Jul-25-11 01:01 PM   #7
  - Then we should never pass cuts in help for poor & elderly  Doctor_J   Jul-25-11 01:06 PM   #10
     - How do we get past a House controlled by fanatics? They see the same polls we do that people want  emulatorloo   Jul-25-11 01:16 PM   #13
        - By not giving in to them  Doctor_J   Jul-25-11 01:30 PM   #22

              - So we give in to the terrorists, then run in 2012 on a "raise taxes" platform  Doctor_J   Jul-25-11 02:06 PM   #42
                 - You have a better plan?  Big Blue Marble   Jul-25-11 05:17 PM   #52

     - It does suck. I gotta tell you I don't know what the endgame is going to be. And it scares the crap  emulatorloo   Jul-25-11 01:26 PM   #20
        - Even if teabaggers all vote no, I think it could still pass if everyone else votes "yes"  jtown1123   Jul-25-11 01:54 PM   #30
           - I think you may be right  emulatorloo   Jul-25-11 01:58 PM   #33
     - The problem with that is taxes would have gone up on everybody, not just the upper class.  emulatorloo   Jul-25-11 01:19 PM   #15
     - That would have been OK with me. The ensuing deficit reduction would have weakened the Repubs.  LonePirate   Jul-25-11 01:53 PM   #28
     - With all due respect, I beg to differ --  Ship of Fools   Jul-25-11 01:23 PM   #16

  - As usual, the people get screwed by the rich and the politicians.  Tierra_y_Libertad   Jul-25-11 01:23 PM   #17
  - but it's not cutting Medicare or Social Security that will be the talking point.  WI_DEM   Jul-25-11 01:24 PM   #18
  - Well it doesn't touch SS or Medicare. That's not a "talking point". That's what's in Reid's plan.  emulatorloo   Jul-25-11 01:29 PM   #21
  - Let's be honest here  maxrandb   Jul-25-11 01:26 PM   #19

  - This is the same kind of crap they shoved down our throats in California  KamaAina   Jul-25-11 02:02 PM   #34
  - We probably can, but it will require more than petitions and phone calls  Doctor_J   Jul-25-11 02:04 PM   #38
  - 1) hands off SS. 2) no extension of Bush tax cuts. 3) end the wars.  lumberjack_jeff   Jul-25-11 02:04 PM   #39
  - Apparently so. It's Changelicious.  blkmusclmachine   Jul-25-11 02:06 PM   #41
  - Reid's proposal will do the least amount of damage out of everything in the realm of passable.  phleshdef   Jul-25-11 02:27 PM   #47
