Funny how the argument keeps coming back to that.

This nation did not vote for a clever carnie playing cheap rope-a-dopes while validating and cementing Republican lies about our economy and what must be done to fix it.

We hoped for and expected something different. After years of Republican poison and lies, we expected from Day One a shift in the narrative in Washington. We expected this gifted speaker and scholar to stand up, lead, and move us toward fundamental change.

Instead, we got a carnie, a liar, and a spokesman for the Republican narrative.

What a pathetic outcome.
