6. The locals lauded her for her courage...
history generally left her behind though...I believe it's a gender thing. Sadly, although her ride was twice that of Revere's, and she wasn't captured, the ride became a bit of a footnote in history.

On the same note of female courage and dedication, Dolley Madison is a class act. After her husband left Washington, she didn't leave until the British troops were actually on WH grounds, making sure that historical and other items would survive the attack.
