30. I understand your point a bit better now. And yes, it is blown out of proportion.
What I do not agree with, and you did not make them earlier, are the comparisons to others, and their terrible behavior. I think just because my friend or a neighbor or a colleague with whom I could conceivably be compared did something despicable does not mean that the behavior of those can therefore be the measuring stick for transgressions I might chose to commit. And then excuse myself because nobody died :)

My own moral compass is the yardstick for my behavior because I have to live with myself. And it is also the yardstick for those whose behavior affects me personally. And in the case of Weiner it did as I said in my other post.

Edwards (my own lousy Senator was he) and Gingrich, a slime ball made out of pond scum, are not the ones who in any way lower the bar or set a new one for the behavior of someone I once respected greatly, namely Weiner.

Weiner has become a poster child for setting a really bad example in a time where the sexting and inappropriate texting happens in the emotionally immature past a certain age, and it might even make the younger ones think.
For that reason I don't mind if his name has become a household word where he was not previously known.
Actions do have consequences. And so does my own bad behavior, even if it is not as bad as that of my "equal" in my social neighborhood.

I think this entire happening is a tragedy for many. And when it comes to bad behavior with real consequences it is actually a huge happening.
At any rate, that's what she said..................
