They didn't let him take pictures of the slave labor camps or the rural countryside. Only pictures of the capital city. And even there, you can tell a lot of what they have to offer is for show.
Pyongyang is supposedly very Kafka-esqe or almost like a twilight zone episode. Those pictures just reinforced that. The illusion of wealth and sanity hiding desperate poverty and a failed ideology.
