48. Nope, couldn't afford one.
They were only starting to become available to mere mortals at that point, but they were still expensive.

I got my first one in 2000, when they were really starting to go mainstream.

My sister's husband had one back in the early 90's - a big bag phone, and he was always complaining about the bill, yelling at anyone who wasted airtime minutes, and you'd better not dare make a call on roaming.

Of course, today, I'm going nuts with my Android smartphone.
