32. The Democratic Party in the US desperately needs saving
Edited on Sat Oct-15-11 03:22 PM by woo me with science
from the corporate forces that have infiltrated it. Unfortunately, the record of this administration over the past three years does not support your beliefs about the party.

That is a big part of what OWS is all about. Why do you think people are in the streets in the USA? Because they do not see help coming from the ballot box anymore. We have a DEMOCRATIC President presiding over what has turned out to be essentially an extension of the Bush administration, policy-wise. Our choices are the corporate neocon party versus the other corporate neocon party.

He has been busy since Day One offering up our desperately needed social programs, spreading war into new countries, entrenching corporations into healthcare and education, backing pipelines through our environment, destroying our civil liberties, and pressuring attorneys general across the United States NOT to criminally prosecute the corrupt bankers who brought our economy down.

Wishful thinking about what the party is supposed to be is not going to save us. We have to look at what it IS, and what it is doing.

The Democratic Party is worth saving. Some "Democrats" are not.

(nice song, btw...thanks)
