I'm 39. I already knew that Medicare and SS was DOA 20 years ago. I don't expect Social Security, because I can do math. We couldn't expect the youth to pay for the middle aged to not work in perpetuity.

As far as assuming that *any* cuts will affect the poor, yes, defense contractors will hurt, as well as single-mother janitors, and wealthy doctors who "care for" the elderly, in the old farms.

Nobody cut the number of doctors in the Medicare program. However, people may have a hard time finding a rich guy to prescribe things.

I do appreciate your perspective, though, even though it doesn't align with mine.

If cutting two trillion dollars from *only* the military budget was the outcome, would you defend the poor who lost their jobs in the industry of killing people?
