Leaders Return to Capitol With No Deal

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said leaders are still trying to find a path forward.

Asked if she could support a short-term deal, the California Democrat said, "Absolutely, positively not."

Pelosi also declined to say whether she would have supported the grand bargain offer President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) were negotiating, which included an increase in the Medicare eligibility age to 67.

"That's not part of what we're talking about," she told reporters upon returning to the Capitol from the White House.

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama and congressional leaders are "definitely not" considering a short-term debt limit increase in their weekend negotiations to break an impasse, House of Representatives Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters on Saturday.
