For example everyone has admitted that they cost control mechanism in the plan is the public option and now that is out there will be no real competition and no reason to control costs.

Your point number three is linked to a summary that links to a CBO report on the estimate of the old Senate bill that included the Public Option and dated December 7th.

There has been no public release of the latest Senate proposal and no reason to believe that there will be any effective cost containment at all.

It appears that the person who is making these points is basing it on the old Senate plan with the Public Option. Most of the cost containment benefits, and the justification for the whole bill, have now been eliminated.
