1. Not extending them means taxes go UP and people's paychecks go DOWN,

2. The unemployed (mostly middle-class) don't get extended benefits, This bill provdes them with 13 months more unemployment benefits

3. The middle class now get a payroll tax cut of 2% for the entire year (someone making $40,000 will get about $1,400 tax cut just for this portion of the bill)

4. Child tax credits are extended for another year

5. Low-income people who don't make enough to pay taxes, will get a check as part of the Earned Income Tax Credit portion of the bill.


Here's a chart that shows what Dems get from this bill compared to Republicans get. It's pretty lopsided in our favor -- we got double what they got.
