that accrue from alienating constituencies- even to the point of going out of ones way gratuitously insulting them in front of the Chamber of commerce in once "celebrated" instance.

And you're correct, some HAVE been warning about it since January (Pastor Rick wasn't the brightest idea and many of use who could do simple maths and understood how state budgeting works recognized that the stimulus wouldn't do the trick). And so sure enough- here we are.

And no, I and others take no pleasure in being right about this- though it surely seemed that even people on this forum would eventually pick up on what was occurring at some point in time- and say "hey, wait a minute."

I mean, how many disillusioned people in constituencies and issue groups can a party do without before it faces a landslide?

Quite a few, to judge by some of the comments here over the past 20 months or so.
