31. Fiorina is playing to the sexist attitudes of so many Republican men.
She must be meeting with some resistance on that account.

California Republicans seem to have thought that by putting two women in as their candidates, they could attract additional female voters. It's probably not working as they hoped. The suburban women that they normally might have a chance of drawing out are really hurting because of the foreclosures. The suburbs have been worst hit by the economic crisis. Having women as candidates was not a bad move but probably not drawing the women they had hoped.

And the women they chose are particularly abrasive to the typical male macho voter. So, this is probably why Fiorina is drawing attention to Boxer's demand that military officers show her the respect that she shows them.
