Has Obama Adopted a Scorched-Earth Policy for the 2010 Midterms?

Think it through for a minute. IF we do get both houses of Congress in the hands of Radical Republicans, it almost surely creates a confrontation with the right-wing radicals on any number of issues where Obama can clearly carve out the right side of the issue (similar to Clinton after the Newtvolution x2). If that happens, I think Obama takes 2012 in a bigger landslide than '08.

So, where do Obama's advisors point him? ... towards a situation where he becomes a perfect foil?

or, do the Dems. and Obama try to claw back in some way against the current high tide of RW flatulence and idiocy?

And if they do try to claw this back, how should they go about it?

-Big policy breakthroughs?
-Negative campaigning (obviously has limitations)?
-Barnstorming Obama around the country?

Or, as some have argued on DU, has the GOP peaked to soon and events will pull back the RW undertow?
