You might think that Obama is being a softy on the GOP by talking about nonparitisanship so often and so called giving in to them. But the fact remains he has to get that out into the public, that the GOP is the party of No, they will not contribute anything positive and stand in the way of progress and improvement. He has to say this repeatedly because the damn media sure won't.

To you it looks weak, to me it looks like it's the only way to get the message out that the GOP are obstructionists. And perhaps force to media to cast a short glance at that story where otherwise they would ignore it.
