97. The President is opposed to equal rights.
He says so all the time, very clearly. He says his religion teaches him that his sort of people are 'sanctified' and that others are not, and to him, that dogma means there can be no equality. He is better than Palin, but Tim Kaine is not, on that issue. Kaine, Obama's choice, is opposed to civil unions as well as equality. Biden is on tape at the VP debate shouting 'yes' that he agrees with Palin on marriage equality.
This hyperbole over deeply vital issues is a huge part of the problem. When you make claims that are not true, such as Obama is working for equal rights for everyone, about this issue, you are using my family as a rhetorical device, and that makes me very angry, as it would you, Barack, or anyone else. Do NOT tell me that a man openly opposed to my equality is fighting for my equality. If you do, expect all manner of rhetoric and hyperbole to answer you in kind. You are poking the bear when you frame this issue falsely, as you have done.
