11. I'm sorry, no. This blame is horribly misplaced.

"We" didn't relax.

We were actively, willfully silenced by the powerful wealth and media forces that currently own our politicians. From the administration on down, every. single. time. any of us piped up even the tiniest amount, the usual suspects clamped down and declared us left-baggers, pet-issue types, people demanding "ponies" and a hundred other epithets intended to belittle and dismiss.

The talking points have come fast and furious from the very beginning that anyone on the Left who had Word One to say to this administration was little more than a hater, a doom and gloomer, a secret Republican, and on and on and on.

Every. Single. Day. on this website, even the mildest of criticisms are bitched and moaned about to death by the Presidential Partisan Squad, drowned out in Party talking-points and spam-filled spin.

You cannot have an entire political establishment and its most ardent partisans screaming at you to shut up and doing their level best to ignore your presences, only to turn around and go "Gee, how comes we can't see or hear you?"

What nonsense. People on the Left have been fighting like hell, from Health-care Reform on down. The administration has refused - absolutely refused - to build upon its own base or even entertain any of the ideas offered. Instead, it compromises, shifts right, and calls our efforts "fucking retarded" as it appeases the Baucus and Lieberman faction of this lobbyist paid-for party.

"We're" fighting. It is the President who does not fight. And if anyone needs even the slightest example - and no one ought to at this point - it's how the public option went crashing down in bright nuclear flames after even the most religiously talking-pointed swore up and down that it was going to be in the bill no matter what, and they super dooper promised even they would abandon the bill if it wasn't.

So now we have the vilified base and the liars.

Cast your lot.
