187. You still don't get it...
I guess I am what is known as a troll. I often read DU but very rarely post. I suppose that's because I think that I've seen this all before. Cindy Sheehan has just discovered what most Black Americans already know --

...you are not the country that I love and I finally realized no matter how much I sacrifice, I can’t make you be that country unless you want it.

There is something fundamentally wrong with this country -- left and right. I read the blogs and think to myself, these guys think that everything will go back to "normal" when Bush and Cheney are gone. Things were not right before they arrived and they will not be right after they are gone.

What we should be fighting for is the very soul of this country: Freedom and Justice for all. I don't see anyone exercised about the torture that was, and is, occurring in American prisons to black people. Then you are surprised when it starts to happen overseas. I don't the left ranting when a man is shot 50 times on the streets of New York and then you are surprised when we shot at innocents "over there."

It begins at home, people. What we do here, we will do there. Cindy is right, this "is not a matter of “right or left”, but “right and wrong.” How many of you will still be here and exercised about injustice after Bush and Cheney are gone? It's just a question to think about. This is how it will all happen again. It's because we want to go back to our comfort zones instead of fighting for freedom and justice no matter how close to home the fight may be.

Best wishes to Cindy and her family. Rest well. You tried.
