Then I was already an idiot, so not voting for him this time would leave my idiocy unchanged, right?

I lived in a state which was obviously going to him anyway. It was nothing personal - sometimes I vote and sometimes I don't. I voted for Kerry in 2004, my first election, and felt pretty dirty doing it.

Ultimately, I own my vote. And somebody simply assuming that they own my vote and if I fail to give it to them something is wrong with me, makes me less likely to vote for them.
