50. I just wanted your opinion. It's not a game.

I was taken to an AA meeting by trick once. I was a drinking buddy of the guy who tricked me. He was one year sober and I wasn't. The first thing I said to myself is that these fools are substituting God for booze. Either way they need a crutch.

Now 25 years later and sober I see the same thing only in a different way. I am not religious but I do believe in a power that is greater than I am. I don't call it god but I feel it's presence all the time. I think sometimes it is the life force or something similar.

Anyway the AA idea of turning things over to a higher power has stuck with me and today I see it as the same idea as this. I get a vision of what I want or want to happen and turn it over and most of the time it happens the way I want. It is called the power of attraction by some and is the idea behind "The Secret." Most people say that I am full of shit and I don't mind because it works for me.

So I don't think AA is a religion but it sure has given me my most important belief system.
