9. Ya THINK???
There's nothing like a cry of "Fight! Fight!!" to draw a crowd unless it's "They're coming for you! They're coming for you!" Both sides know that. A happy populace can't be sold things to assuage their fear and make them feel superior and reinforce the fact that their team is, after all "the Good Guys." All media plays into it and these days the info cycle is so short and the number of opportunists is so vast that all they can do is ramp it up more and more and hope we respond.

Happens here at DU all the time. It's very, very seductive.
