61. I am glad you left it up
because I absolutely expected such a response and totally understand why you falsely believe you are correct.

I have seen and heard progressives call reps like Ike Skelton 'Blue Dog' Democrats, which in your opinion makes them Republicans. The people who vote for them do so because they agree with them because they govern according to their beliefs and not yours. Those voters will not vote for a progressive candidate to represent them. They will not vote for a very conservative candidate to represent them. In fact, they will vote for a Republican over a progressive and a Democrat over a very conservative candidate. They do NOT choose the extreme positions of either side, they choose the positions in between them. The moderate position.
Progressives can act like they get to define the "true moderate position" but they do not. Sorry.

As expected, you totally missed the point with the who is deciding what is corporate remark. What is actually at the expense of the citizens means different things to different individuals and to claim somebody, say like President Obama, is a corporate Democrat (a Republican in your opinion) simply because they understand there is a balance to be maintained between the two, shows just which views are moderate and which are extreme.

You do realize that equal rights are something that must be fought for EVERY day, right? There is no legislation that can be created that will stop that fight either. Why? Because you cannot force people to believe in or accept something they disagree with, by simply writing a new law. At this point in time, full equal rights as defined by you is NOT defined the same by others. Others like President Obama, the majority of black Americans or the majority of hispanic Americans. And it is ridiculous and insulting to suggest that any of those groups are any less of a Democrat because they do not agree with you.

Sorry, but I missed that discussion and neither I or anybody I know were asked anything about it. So to say Americans overwhelmingly preferred such a thing is a partisan shot in the dark to sway opinion one way or another. All I can say on that topic is that if you actually believe the majority of Americans are willing to pay alot more taxes in order for their government to distribute wealth as they see best, then you are at odds with what the elections show to be the opposite.

The football field is a good analogy. The one thing you miss is that the ball isn't on the 20 yard line just because one or two big linemen look down the field from the 50 and see an extra 30 yards that aren't really there.
