He and his ilk taught America that Cheap is Good.

I was working on a book for the Campbell University Business School, in which I learned of two things: Henry Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson (the "one lesson" I took away was "the crack epidemic has been going on longer than we thought") and that the way to be successful in business is to use only the cheapest materials and labor you can possibly find to make your products.

Unfortunately, this is how to be successful in business in the short term--when people figure out your shit falls apart because you make it out of cheap crap and your production line employees don't give a fuck, they'll stop buying it.
