Generally, they don't wanna know what they don't know. My dad is filled with hatred...hatred for Obama, the n_____, the deficit (the deficit didn't mean anything to him when it was Bush's), Obamacare, etc. He just spouts platitudes that he doesn't really know anything about. But it doesn't really matter to him. You can point out how he's mistaken on a point...but it doesn't matter. The point is...he is filled with hatred for thoz liberals, and he's just doing what all the good little Republican soldiers are doing...walking around spewing hatred and venom and misinformation.

Maybe you can do what I do...I read DU to get information and seek out liberal points of view. I try to make acquaintances with moderates and liberals...or nonpolitical people. I remind myself that history shows that we are on the right side of MOST of the issues. I watch a variety of political programs. And of course, I VOTE!

Hang in there, and try not to talk politics with those people. It's pointless. They already know that they're uninformed. And they've made up their minds that that's the way they want it.
