The cannabis measure here in California will draw lots of voters in spite of the Obama Justice Department's politically idiotic announcement that it will continue to prosecute marijuana possession.

I will never be using marijuana, but I don't like seeing lives ruined and money lost and judicial resources wasted on hounding marijuana users when alcohol users are running wild and causing all kinds of problems in our society. Alcohol is a far more dangerous drug than marijuana. And presumably if marijuana is legal, it's potency can be measured and maybe controlled. People buying marijuana will at least know what they are getting, I should hope. Right now, marijuana can be laced with anything, and that is what can make it dangerous.
