is why they distrust the police and people of authority. They know that the police are there to protect people of a certain class, not them.

When I was in college I became friends with someone who rode the bus who had incredible stories about police stealing pot, raping women, stealing money etc. She was someone who was in her
early 20's and very jaded. I had a hard time believing her stories. She would just laugh at me and say I was naive and from a family with money.

I am now older and wiser, and unfortunately have witnessed how police treat the people that don't count. It is ugly.
