16. What plagues this state now...
Edited on Wed Sep-08-10 09:25 AM by Dappleganger
1) Out of control republicans pushing through far right-wing "morality" laws (anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-women, anti-minorities, anti-immigrant)
2)Republicans from Tallahassee down to the city and county levels giving one another giant pork project funding, while at the same time completely defunding help for the poor, the elderly and children.
3)Republicans on all levels being anti-public education and pushing this taxpayer-funded-charter-school-race-to-the-bottom garbage. What happens is that the republicans are funding THEIR RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS as well as schools which have NO BUSINESS interacting with children, being given our TAXPAYER MONEY with NO OVERSIGHT.
4)Republicans believing that financial accountability is a one-way street.
5)Republicans with no dream or changing FL for the better. Their only message is what they fear and who they do not wish to live next to (NIMBY mentality).

Alex Sink has been a very vocal person about all of the above issues. I've been following her very closely over the past year and am quite impressed with her character, her message to the people as well as how she works with others. I believe that she is a solid democrat in the most important areas which affect Floridians at this time and will have the SPINE to regularly veto out of control republican bills from Tallahassee. Let's face it, the tea parties are moving into FL and for the most part have a stranglehold in many areas. Alex has the guts to stand up to them and not get caught up in their pettiness while bringing this state forward.
