11. I don't think they're religiously insane - I think they are either social cowards -
looking to keep their co-backers, or they don't see a health reason for keeping abortion services available.
Frankly, they're from a social background where abortions only happen to "bad girls" where there's no contraceptives and they don't want to go through the effort to raise or adopt the baby out to or if it's an inconvenient time to have a kid.
Married women in their class generally don't need to have abortions due to health because of the range of medical care available to them, so in a way, for the most part an abortion is a choice as much as deciding what school to send the kids to or if they want to keep the nanny or not for another couple years.

So, if the foundation "stays out of the controversy" or sweeps it under the rug, claiming that abortion is not really a health issue and contraceptives and adoption services are all women really need, then in their mind, there's no need to discuss abortion when discussing "real" women's health care.

I think they're just clueless or willfully ignorant - and a bit cowardly. Their foundation has to be the good guy in the eyes of the world, and currently, most of the western world has issues dealing with reproduction issues (i.e. unless it's deviant, having sex is a "choice" by the woman and the man for the act itself and children are the natural outcome of that act when no contraceptive is used)- and the western world currently is the dominant culture most others strive either to be like or to react against.

Haele
