They will take an innocent remark or post and next thing you know you're a racist, troll, fascist, busybody, whatever...some of them even follow you around and try to goad you. Don't let them. Get right back in their face, nicely, and ask them what they had in mind and would they like to discuss it further. They'll scurry away fast...too much light on them makes them hide. And wish them a good day...it's called "killing with kindness" and it works pretty well because it disarms them!
