I've been on DU for a couple years now and obviously I haven't read the rules closely enough because a couple times I have told a particularly obnoxious poster that I am alerting his post. That's against the rules and frankly I didn't realize it until nor so for me , at least , this reposting of the DU rules was useful.

Frankly I think the rules against incivility could be even stringer but I think Skinner and the mods have a good start with what they have.

I also agree with the poster who said that, by and large, most people who have a problem with the rules have problems following them - meaning being simply civil to one another.

Thanks to the OP for posting them and frankly I wish we'd see them more often as a consciousness raising exercise.
