Because open markets really are at the center of how to fix public education. That "fix" is apparently in, with public money being paid to private companies to purchase tests and tell schools how they should be run more like business. Then that can all get traded on the stock market, boosting those companies profits. Nice access to previously dedicated public funds ad a double bonus there.

And never mind what those pesky unions have to say. What would the people who are actually in the classroom know about the best practices for education, anyway?
